Speaker 1:

Hello, welcome to Dear Mr Fantasy, where we bring you the hard-hitting news. The news hit a little bit too hard this week. We'll talk about that in our sad voice section today. We are a bunch of sad boys today. Daddy Dill, what makes you sad today?

Speaker 2:

Well, nothing makes me sadder than seeing my fantasy team drop 144 points. I'm just kidding, that doesn't make me sad at all. I'm a happy, go lucky person tonight for our podcast here.

Speaker 1:

Well, good for you, dylan. That sounds lovely. My team dropped a third of that. It's a sad boys week for me, which brings us to our first segment, the matchup winners at the salon, the blowouts. We start with Marx's right, absolutely destroying me, gobbling me up 98.68 to 50.32. Brutal, just an absolute trouncing of a week.

Speaker 1:

Next we have Parsons of interest doubling up and more. The Kai Renaissance Football Club 149.16, 272.74. And then Bijan Mustard has his hot dog with all of the toppings, with 144 points versus the G-Paws with 88.12 points. I'm on top of the world, stays on top of the world with a pretty sad 79.5 points versus bad Gramps with 53 points. And then ending it with St Stevenson, who finally comes alive 142.54 versus Team Cronus with 96 points, which brings us to our Westfair TV audio barn Burner of the Week.

Speaker 1:

It wasn't much of a barn burner, it just kind of came down to the last game and it was still won by over 10 points. So this could be a close, but no cigar candidate. But we need to add money. So Kirk Eman's dead has a somewhat easy win over cooking their ass 86.46 to 75.36. More blowouts. I think we had one week of a bunch of close games and ever since then everything's been pretty lopsided, which, surprising to me, that's not usual. Maybe it's because it's a little more partisan here and we got more people super locked into this season. I don't know, dylan. What's the reason for these killer games here?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm not too sure. Maybe it's just we're catching the matchups at the wrong time. What I will say is the standings are jam-packed. I mean, we have a bunch of teams at three and two, eight teams, eight teams out of 12, or three and two, and then we have two, two and three teams, and even the two teams that started 0-4, marks was right in St Stevenson are only two games out of first place. So we're not really even close to talking about a goodbye toby. Yet, with the standings looking like this, no team has been able to separate themselves from the pack, and so the matchups are leaning blowout, but the standings are saying this is a far from overrace.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I agree with you. If you look at the final standing projections, it looks like we are the top two guys right now.

Speaker 1:

I was one last week and now I'm two to you, but I'll take that. I took one on the chin this week. I had every wide receiver on by, so what can you do about it? But yeah, I think you're right. Everyone has a chance still, which is why we do this podcast. We want everyone to be engaged, everyone to be making waiver claims, everyone to be setting their lineups every week because you could still win it. Now we aren't going to do goodbye toby yet. We're weeks away from a goodbye toby, so keep at it. We're still here. We're still thriving, just like our big boys of the week. I have two nominations here for the big boy of the week.

Speaker 1:

Want to give a shout out to Justin Fields 28.9 points, 282 passing yards, four touchdowns and 57 rushing yards. This is the second week of him being a top five quarterback. It is a complete turnaround for him. Oh, 32.9 points. Dylan changed it for me, thank you. Thank you for that.

Speaker 1:

The live edit is so good. He's back. It seems like his connection with DJ Moore is great Ever since that interview of him blaming the coaches and then saying he's got to be more relaxed out there and just play football, not be so robotic. He's been great ever since then. So, yeah, I think we're back to Justin Fields. He did this last season. He started off slow, ended up being a top five quarterback for the rest of the season. This is something that's sustainable, and it was all in the passing game too, which is what is ideal about this. It's like we know we can do it with his legs, but he did it with his arm this past week, which is very promising. So if he can be that dual threat quarterback yeah, I'm watching Dylan make notes in the dock live as we're doing this my actual big boy of the week and he wasn't a top quarterback, but he was up there Got to give him props.

Speaker 1:

Joe Burrow he's been in the panic section the last two or three weeks. He finally comes alive. 23.3 points, 370 passing yards, three touchdowns he did have an interception, but who cares? Joe Burrow had more than 20 points this week. He threw three touchdowns to Chmar Chase. It's all you could ever want. He did it. He's back and you know we'll see if this can continue. But again, slow start for the Bengals. Just like Justin Fields, these guys always start slow and they might be here to stay for the rest of the season. So if you were patient with them, you're a happy person coming into this next week, dylan, who is your big boy of the week.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, or if you traded for one of them, you're also happy. My big boy of the week is Brock Purdy, looking great in San Francisco, distributing the ball well, super accurate.

Speaker 1:

Say he's Purdy.

Speaker 2:

I think he's a lineup lock going forward. I would not keep him out of my starting lineup. The fun part about doing this podcast is we get to tell everyone else how they should run their team. So according to me, I would say that Brock Purdy is a lineup lock going forward until he shows us that it's not happening. But with that star studded cast, I don't see why he can't keep this up.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he's. I mean, that team is just the best right now. They look so good, they're just steamrolling every team and to me they are favorites until they have multiple injuries because they only keep getting better. Alright, the running back big boys of the week. I nominate here Zachary Moss 31.5 points in our barbaric standard league, 165 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Speaker 1:

You know everyone was scared of Jonathan Taylor coming back. I was excited for Jonathan Taylor coming back and I was wrong. Zach Moss looks great. This is the best he's ever looked in this league. He could possibly cut into a lot of Jonathan Taylor's snaps, I guess, going forward. I mean he did, he did just get paid, but I think Zach Moss is looking too good to take snaps away from. So he's my big boy of the week. Good for you, zach Moss, happy that you are actually being used in a good way with a good offensive line on a running team. That is, that's nice. It's hope for everyone going forward. So that's my big boy of the week. It's a good like a feel good story and he won you your matchup this week, probably if you started him. Dylan, I see you have someone here that we were a little panicky on. I was down on last week, so tell us your big boy of the week.

Speaker 2:

Right, my big boy is Breeze Hall. He looks, if not 100%, 99% the way there. He had that huge touchdown run. The burst is back. Dalvin Cook is zero threat to him at the moment. This Jets team is not the most explosive offense, but their best weapon is Breeze Hall. You can imagine them giving him plenty of opportunities going forward. So Breeze Hall is my big boy. This week you got to like what you're seeing out of him If you were able to keep him on your roster or get him in a trade.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and like no snap count going forward. That was. The big news going into this week was that he was now off of the snap count, he was unlimited. I wish I wish there was a Mr Unlimited joke to make here going to the wide receivers, but there's not, because the Broncos are terrible. The wide receiver, big boy of the week.

Speaker 1:

I have two nominations here. Number one is your boy, who I'll let you talk about, but as DJ more, 230 yards, three touchdowns, he looked awesome. That Justin Fields connection is great. He I mean, for some reason they kept pressing DJ more and he just kept running by his assignment and it was just, it was a lock. Every time. He just, you know, made one move and then kind of ran a go round. He was, he was open every single time. It was uncanny, it was unbelievable to watch him do that every time and I enjoyed watching that on Thursday night, for as bad of a game that was going to be, he made that spectacular to watch. Dylan, do you have any thoughts about the DJ more game or what he can do going forward?

Speaker 2:

I love to see it, of course. Keep on doing that, dj. More is it's the run. After the catchability that he showed in Carolina, it's happening in Chicago. It's exciting if you're a Bears fan, and so you just hope to see more of that going forward. Definitely.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, he was absolutely incredible and he's been great this season. You know he's been, you know, a fantastic wide receiver. So I think, if Justin Fields can keep it up, dj more is a top you know five, top six wide receiver for the rest of the year, which is what you wanted. And now Carolina is looking for number one receiver. I wonder where they can find one. Jamar Chase is my second nomination for my wide receiver. Big boy this week Finally just breaks out, has his big game 192 yards, three touchdowns, 37.2 points. Dylan puts a note here that says squeaky wheel gets the grease and, my God, is that man greasy right now? Because, good Lord, he was on fire. Our, our friend and brother, connor Levinson, actually made the prediction that he could break the touchdown record, the receiving record, this this year and, based on this game, maybe you can still do it.

Speaker 1:

I don't know you know I don't think it's too little, too late here, but he was fantastic Glad to see he's back on this list, at least the side of this list. But Dylan, I actually I have this next person here in another league of mine. I'm happy you picked him as big boy. Who is your big boy wide receiver this week?

Speaker 2:

It's George Pickens and he had that game-winning touchdown against the Ravens. Somehow, some way they pulled that off. Congrats, Doug. I know you were watching that game. He's the one piece of this Steelers offense I think you're okay with right now, like don't give me any other piece, no Najee hairs, no, kenny, pick it Johnson's out, but give me George Pickens all day because he could break one at any minute. He's got that, that type of big playmaking ability, so definitely deserves to be a big boy for this week.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, man, he was a killer in PPR we leagues this week. He was just absolutely fantastic. He is electric and you're right. Keep me away from every other piece of that. See their scene, except for the defense which finally came alive this week.

Speaker 2:

Good for you, guys of course you bring up the freaking defense. Oh, shut up, dude.

Speaker 1:

Defense was championships and you know it All right. So the tight end big boy of the week. It was a good tight end week. You know it's our first good tight end week in a while with a lot of the I guess the the the big boy tight ends.

Speaker 1:

You know the usuals in this, in this segment. They didn't really show up as much as you, as you'd like, but Sam Laporta 16.7 points, 47 yards and two touchdowns. Sam Laporta is, as we've seen from the Lions, like they just look like they're, just like Sam Laporta is, as we've seen from the Lions, like they just love this tight end position. Man. And Sam Laporta looks like a vet, like usually kind of stay away from the, the rookie tight ends. But man, I can't get enough of this guy right now. I think he is, I Think he's a huge piece going forward and I'm really excited about the rest of his year, especially with Jared Goff.

Speaker 1:

Like that passing offense is crazy. I mean I'm a Ross St Brown's been hurt so maybe that had something to do with it like gets a little bit more love in the target Game. But I just I Still think with everyone they have on that receiving core, he is a sneaky guy to always get you touchdown, which is what you want. Like I said, in this barbaric standard league, you want the guys in the end zone. I think he's that guy that gets in the end zone. I like your question here, dylan, and I'm gonna I'm gonna pose it to you our tight ends turning a corner. I.

Speaker 2:

Think they are, because when you bring up how Sam Laporta is playing, I mean it makes you think about how young he is. Right, he's a rookie, and you also have. He hasn't quite made the big fantasy splash yet, but Luke Musgrave and Green Bay I still think he has got great potential. Dallas Goddard finally had his big game and you saw what George Kittle can do. He did that last year where he had multiple games of multiple touchdowns. And then of course you have Travis Kelsey. Even Kyle Pitts had 87 yards. So I think that there is a chance that we're seeing tight ends turn a corner a little bit in fantasy. They could this be a one-off, not too short. But I start looking at the list and the the names start to become more like star names, I mean, and again you add a young guy like Laporta into the mix and that makes you Kind of have hope for the future of this position.

Speaker 1:

Speaking of hope, dylan, please don't give people hope about Kyle Pitts. That's mean of you to say and wrong and and you will apologize next week, when there is inevitably a down week with Kyle Pitts. So Note that listeners, especially international ones, um, but Do I do grith you? I think Titans returning, I think sorry, had to get there first. Watch out for Brock Bowers next year. Just what a name man that's awesome.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, dude, what a name. It's a great name and he's an even better tight end. So excited about that one. All right defense big boy of the week. New Orleans. They scored a touchdown. They gave up zero points. They had two interceptions at a fumble return from return. Why are you doing that fumble recovery? I can't read this, this will go into our panic section. But God, new England's terrible New Orleans showed up. They, they did what they had to do. That's my big boy, at least on defense of the week. Do you have anything to add for any other big boys in the defense here?

Speaker 2:

You already said it, but Pittsburgh they're gonna have to win games off their defense, kind of like what we saw on Sunday. So yeah, kudos to them, I guess, for winning that game, and however ugly fashion you got to get a win, it's better than being 0-1-5.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was. It was a rock fight. It was hard to watch that game. That was. That was not pretty.

Speaker 1:

Which brings us to our first bad boy of the week, sponsored by Chronos law. Get your lawyers here, as Dylan puts. That's a good tagline. I really do enjoy that. It fits the vibe of where Chronos law is from. He'll lock you up. Don't mess with him. Don't mess with him.

Speaker 1:

Quarterback big boy. It's not big boy, just quarterback. Bad boy of the week, lamar Jackson. Oh, it's just prone to stinkers man. 10.94 points, 236 yards and a pick. Just had a tough time against this steelers defense, which you know. It makes sense the Steelers have a great defense. Up until this point of the season they have not had a great defense, so you kind of expect a little more of Lamar. He looked great last week. This week it wasn't necessarily his fault. He had a lot of drops in that receiving core. It's just something to note that you know his receivers can fail him going forward Really like bad drops to like hitting the hands like should be a catch, and just Everyone was in La La Land there. So yeah, that was. That was tough to watch, but he is my bad boy of the week at the quarterback position Dylan. Bring up one of my favorite bad boys at this position.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's got to be Daniel Jones for me, and I'm looking at him being a drop candidate at this point from your roster. He's been low 20s QB this season, except for one game he was QB one and who was that? Against the Arizona Cardinals. So it's either he has is capable of being a QB one or the Arizona Cardinals are capable every week of giving up QB one points, and I choose to believe the latter is the more possible. So Daniel Jones to me is a guy that you kind of want to cut bait with at this point. I don't see this Giants offense turning around the ship anytime soon.

Speaker 1:

Wolf, I Think I agree with you. All right, moving on to the running back bad boy of the week, I'm going with Tony Pollard and this Dallas Cowboys defense 5.4 points, 49 yards and a fumble. It's again game script. I mean they were out of it from the start. It was just all 49ers all the time. It was kind of left to Dak throwing it up To everyone.

Speaker 1:

He seems pretty indecisive, was having a hard time setting his feet, getting downfield, being confident in play call, and I just don't think there's any room for the run game in here. So again, I don't think this is going to be a thing going forward. They just ran into a absolute buzz saw and it shows you how Crazy that differences between you know someone who you think is like maybe a top five, top 18 of Dallas Cowboys to run into the 49ers and get trampled. So not something that we should expect, but something that's possible when they're facing a better team than them. So that's my bad boy the week, but I'm sure we will see him on on a different list next week, hopefully a better one. Dylan, you're a bad boy, hopefully not the sad boys list.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. I know there's only two other options.

Speaker 1:

It's a jinx right there yeah. I mean, we absolutely need a big boy week out of him, which I think that's what it is. It's not. I don't think he's gonna be a sad boy, I think he's gonna be a big boy. So, yeah, I wanted to just clarify that before he gets hurt and then I'm blamed for this. Please tell us your running back.

Speaker 2:

Bad boy of the week yeah and in a similar vein to Tony Pollard, I'll go Kyron Williams, who put up 5.7 points. Obviously you're expecting to want more out of him, but, similar to Pollard, I think better weeks are ahead. It was a tough matchup against the Eagles. He finds the end zone, this is what Williams does, and he has the RB1 position locked down in Los Angeles, so nothing to worry about with him. I think we're on the same page with kind of our running back bad boys here.

Speaker 1:

Yeah it's just you know you're gonna have these weeks. You can't be great every week Unless you're Christian McCaffrey, and even then you have down weeks, All right. So wide receiver, bad boys of the week my candidate here is, unfortunately, Devonte Smith. Has six yards. We talked about this in the past. This wide receiving core for the Eagles is just kind of boomer bust. It's only like one can really truly exist as a number one wide receiver here. And you know, for the first week or two it was Devonte Smith and now it's been AJ Brown ever since. Aj Brown is great. He's been fantastic. He had over 120 yards this past week on six receptions and Devonte Smith has one reception for six yards.

Speaker 1:

You just kind of play that game where Devonte Smith will have breakout weeks going forward but you risk having your wide receiver too or, if you drafted him late, a wide receiver one kind of lose the week for you. You know you can't get less than a point from one of your wide receivers there. So it's tough playing him going forward because I feel like you always have to play him because of the ceiling, but you just have to be ready for the floor that he might not get you a point. So we'll monitor that going forward. It's been a little bit of a trend as the last couple of weeks, so hopefully that stops, but I don't see it happening.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it reminds me of the classic Alexander Hamilton Aaron Burr situation where the world's only big enough for one of them, right? Or that's what Aaron.

Speaker 1:

Burr believes.

Speaker 2:

So you kind of have the same thing going on here with AJ Brown and Devonte Smith, but I think it won't end up in a duel. I think they're gonna be fine just fine together. So maybe not fancy-wise, but I think they'll both you know they won't end up in a duel is what I'm trying to say.

Speaker 1:

I agree with that. I don't think it'll end up in a duel, because that'll be really weird and out of context for all of this. But you know, interesting at least to be a big news story. Maybe I'd take Taylor Swift out of the fucking news cycle for a little bit. But all right, give me your wide receiver, bad Boy of the Week, who you so touted before this.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Jerry Judy, I'm gonna have to put him on the list again. I thought that the last Bad Boy was kind of a fluke because it was his first game back and he was just getting back into the rhythm of things. But I honestly have no idea what Sean Payton's vision is with this offense. I just don't see it yet the any type of vision coming together, any cohesiveness. There's a lot of fumbles happening. There's a lot of weird mistakes, even on trick plays where guys are fumbling and Wilson again is tending to hold onto the ball a little too long the same thing you saw in Hackett's system last year a little bit. So I'm concerned about the Broncos offense and therefore I'm concerned about Jerry Judy.

Speaker 1:

That's a fair concern to have. Yeah, sean Payton did lose to the coach who was responsible for the worst coaching job of all time, in his eyes, this past week. So goodbye you, sean Payton. All right, and as always, the tight end Bad Boys of the Week is all of them. They're just always bad. Don't expect anything from your tight end.

Speaker 2:

We just said that they're turning a corner.

Speaker 1:

I know we just said that, but let's just. This is our identity. We know the tight ends are bad. They'll be good every now and then, but don't trust them. Kyle Pitts will be bad next week. Don't expect anything more.

Speaker 2:

That's fair.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, our sad boys of the week. Oh God, this is such a sad, sad list. Number one Justin Jefferson the hamstring injury I think currently it's at. There's a rumor that he's going to the IR. I don't think it's official yet that he's on the IR but like it's like, I think, like Austin Eckler this week, this 99% chance that it's going to happen. So watch out for that one. That's tough. The fact that it's an IR rumor in general is brutal because he will miss at least one or two weeks.

Speaker 2:

Four weeks actually with the IR.

Speaker 1:

Well, if he's on the IR, is he officially on the IR?

Speaker 2:

That's what I'm hearing they're going to do, because they're going to be very cautious with Jefferson.

Speaker 1:

The Vikings are kind of out of the running for any type of postseason at this point, Right yeah, which again, like because it's not official, I don't want to say he's missing four weeks, but like yeah, obviously he's on the IR. He's done for four weeks, if not more, depending on I don't know where their bi-week is, to be honest with you. So yeah, that's the worst one of all, mostly because you drafted him one, two, three, four, if you're lucky, and after a pretty decent start you lose him for the middle of the season while you're also fighting bi-week. So a really tough blow for any Justin Jefferson owners of for this week. So sorry, sorry guys. Devon Achan, the superstar of fantasy football, the running back two, after being a healthy scratch week one, is also possibly going to the IR, at least missing two to three weeks with a knee injury. They might put him on the IR because we do have Jeff Wilson coming back from IR. It seems like this week they have Rahim Moser, like they do have answers at the running back, so they can be careful with him, who's a rookie. You know you want to take care of this kid. He is the truth. He is the exact identity of this Miami Dolphin team. He is faster than lightning, maybe faster than Tyree Kill, but, yeah, knee injury possible IR.

Speaker 1:

Anthony Richardson, ac joint spraying out for multiple weeks. Definitely out this week, we'll see. They said up to four weeks. That's also an IR candidate here, but no official word on that. Travis Kelsey went out of the game with an ankle injury. Came back in the game to score a touchdown, missed the first day of practice. Came back to practice this week. He plays Thursday night, so it's kind of up in the air here. It seems to be kind of a throwaway game too, because I believe they played Denver on Thursday night. So I'm curious what they do with him, as I don't believe they need him to be Denver at home. But you know, we'll see how they play this. James Connor is on the IR officially with the knee injury.

Speaker 2:

That was surprising.

Speaker 1:

It was surprising, right, that one kind of took me back. He's had a great start to the season. He's been a you know you draft him late. You've been very pleasantly surprised with his output. But yeah, I think this Cardinals team is going to air on the side of caution always, because that means that they could possibly get, you know, maybe a quarterback from Southern California. And then Khalil Herbert has a high ankle sprain who's definitely out this week, possibly out for multiple weeks, hard to say, just a brutal hit dude Like, where are you most worried here in all these injuries?

Speaker 2:

It's totally dependent on how your team's put together. I would say that the worst hit is Jefferson, because that's the crux of your team. You kind of built your team around him, whereas a guy like H-Han, you either scooped him up off the waivers or he was a flyer kind of near the end of the draft, and kind of same thing with Richardson, who wasn't going top of his class, and Kelsey. You know it's not looking super serious there. So I'm going to say that Justin Jefferson is the guy I'm most worried about, just based off of how you kind of depend on him. So much for your team's success. But in good news, daniel Jones. He should be back for week six. He suffered a neck injury. So there you go.

Speaker 1:

He did. He did, I mean, and like behind that offensive line. I mean it only makes sense that he he'll get hurt this week, he'll get hurt the next week, Like he is a prime candidate to be on this list going forward until they decide to protect him because he is vulnerable to any and all defensive linemen coming his way. That's good, Because that's a neck injury. You know that's always scary. But yeah, I agree, Justin Jefferson is the main one here, especially because of the fact that he could be out for four weeks during all these bi-weeks. It's a fantasy standpoint. That is just a killer. You know, Fortunately, wide receiver is a deeper position than running back, but you can't replace someone like Justin Jefferson, so hopefully he gets better.

Speaker 1:

Hamstring's a scary injury to come back from. You know that's a finicky one, so we'll see, but we'll keep you updated there. We're kind of. You know the hard-hitting news here, so you'll know from us whenever he's coming back. So don't worry about that. Guys Just gave you some finger guns. All right, Dylan, we have our favorite segment Of all time, the one that everyone clamors for, the one that everyone needs.

Speaker 2:

Needs Wow. Hope they don't need it, they do.

Speaker 1:

They do Give it to them.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so it's time for a new power rankings. You know we're heading into week six here and I will say I think we've all had enough of the Taylor Swift talk in the NFL. Between the media and the in-game shots and all the online Swifties. You know there's a collective hug in the air when it comes to Taylor Swift in the NFL. Connor, I think you literally just alluded to that.

Speaker 2:

So that's why this power rankings will have absolutely nothing to do with Taylor Swift, Because there's no bad blood here at Dear Mr Fantasy but I think we all just need to calm down a little bit. It's time to up our style and this blank space of a power rankings isn't going to give into pop culture zeitgeist. Okay, so are you ready for it? Here's definitely a completely Taylor Swift free. Nothing to do with her music or her personal life.

Speaker 2:

I can tell by Connor's reaction. He knows I'm just kidding, so look what you made me do. Nfl here are the Taylor verse week six fantasy power rankings of 2023.

Speaker 2:

All right, let's start with number 12. Marks was right. One and four Stain in the bottom spot is. Marks was right. They pulled off the win this week against Abai and injury riddle DK squad. The talent is there for this team to make a mid season run, though you got Stefan Diggs top three wide receiver and Deandre Swift has solidified himself as the number one back in Philly. He still got Kelsey at tight end, and burrow might be turning it around. Still, it's the unpredictability of this team that keeps them at the bottom. I just don't trust them. I don't trust them to show up on Sunday with a set lineup and I definitely don't trust them, even with all the talent, to show up at an award show and not make a fool of themselves. So you guessed it. Marks was right. Is Kanye West in our Taylor verse.

Speaker 2:

Number 11 is bad Gramps at two and three. Bad Gramps stays at the number 11 spot. Even with the two wins, they haven't done quite enough to dig themselves out of the early hole, at least not yet. The wide receivers are strong, and yet we worry about distribution breakdown with so many Rams on the roster. Most glaring, though, is the RB room. Najee Harris has been a disaster. And if James Cook can't get going, forget about it. There's some potential on the bench with Chiba Hubbard possibly taking over the RB1 position in Carolina. Like the Taylor Swift album Lover, this is not a bad team per se. There are a couple of hits here, but the rest of the material is, dare I say, cringy.

Speaker 2:

Number 10, st Stevenson at one and four, with a whopping 140 points scored. Last week St Stevenson got on a roll and never looked back. He showed that the ceiling is very high for this team. The lightning quick duo of Breece Hall and H On is electric. Chase jumped all the way back up to the top 10 with a dominant performance and Patrick Mahomes hasn't even gotten going yet. So we love the potential here. But with great potential comes great heartbreak. That's what happens when someone steals your heart, like when Harry Styles stole Taylor's way back in the One Direction days. H Ann has stolen St Stevenson's just to break his poor little heart. That's right. He will now miss multiple weeks with a knee injury. You add Gibbs and Ramon Dre, stevenson's heartbreak and you have a relationship turned sour. But at least some great music will come out of it.

Speaker 2:

Number nine Kirking Man's Dead. Easy win at three and two. Sometimes safe is good. It gets the job done. Most of the time Doesn't rock the boat. Kirk Cousins is definitely a safe fantasy QB. He's actually the number three ranked QB as of this writing. Josh Jacobs is a safe running back. He's top 15 caliber but he hasn't sniffed his dominant performances from last year. Tony Pollard has been another safe, albeit somewhat disappointing RB1. Devante Smith, jerry Judy, raheem, mostert all fine if not exciting options, though Mostert does get a boost.

Speaker 2:

With H Ann going down, this team could definitely make the playoffs, but nothing screams instant classic, at least not yet, just like a solid debut album Circa 2006 called Taylor Swift. This team shows a lot of promise, but I'm not ready to say best team of our generation yet. Number eight Amon, top of the World Three and two another solid team. And can I just say again that each of our teams are still in the running here. I don't see any Toby coming anytime soon. So our standings are really tight and this is again an excitement factor decision for me. Derek Henry is not a top 10 RB, though he was drafted as one. Waddle has been outshined by Tyreek and Damien Pierce has really come back down to earth this season Look closer, and even Tua and St Brown are underachieving, with a ninth and 22nd ranking at their respective positions. I would say Taylor Swift's album Evermore was a little bit like this A little sleepy, a little overshadowed by its sister album, folklore. However, we are still talking about a play calling pop sensation here. Yes, I am talking about Mike McDaniels and the Dolphins Offense. I believe stronger performances are ahead, especially for a fantasy team that's invested in the Dolphins Lions and King Henry.

Speaker 2:

Number seven, team Cronus at three and two. We were just talking about this team undefeated at three and oh and here we are outside of the top six. Things change quickly in fantasy football, and by things I mean injuries. Losing Justin Jefferson is season changing, deshaun Watson is also on the men's still, and things are about to get rocky for Team Cronus.

Speaker 2:

You know there was a time when Taylor Swift was going through some changes. Specifically, I am referring to the reputation era. It was a big shift in personality, but it also led to some major musical experimentations. She embraced the uncertainty of the moment, dove headfirst into electronic pop and set herself up for a late 2010's reset. Steve, now is the time to channel your inner diva, swift. Set yourself apart and blaze your own trail. Shut up the haters like me and embrace your new found attitude. Or you can just play some of your bench players. Either way, I'm sure you'll be okay.

Speaker 2:

Number six Kai Renaissance Football Club. Two and three. I am happy to report I was right about this team being a playoff contender, even at 0-2, and the reasons for the comeback are simple Lamar Jackson, kyren Williams and Nico Collins. Those are the big three of this team. But there's more. Don't forget about Jerome Ford and TJ Hawkinson. It's like listening to Fearless Taylor's version. Of course, the three track opening of Fearless 15 and Love Story is incredible. And who can forget the Lamar Jackson of the album you Belong With Me? Every time I sing along to that tune, I picture Lamar breaking off on one of his signature runs. I mean, the song really just speaks to me in that way. Where was I? Oh yeah, nick's got a great football club here. I'm afraid it's just a little too early in the fantasy careers of guys like Williams Ford and Collins to say he's absolutely set up for a championship run. I want to see a little bit more out of this team before I move them up.

Speaker 2:

Number five Parsons of Interests 3-2, and boy do I have some apologizing to do. I had this team all the way down at 10 last time around. All they did was lead the league in scoring with an unfathomable 150 points, and now is, by a wide margin, the highest scoring team in fantasy football this year. The defending champ is back, ladies and gentlemen, or I guess just gentlemen, unless there are some ladies out there listening. In that case, hi, mom, until this team is stopped, or stopped scoring, we have to think of them as a top championship contender. Like the album Midnights, it takes a couple listens, but then you're saying to yourself could this be Taylor's best album ever? It's me, hill, I'm the fastest. It's me when I run, flashed. Everybody agrees. I stare directly at the sun because I'm in Miami. It must be exhausting, always chasing me, like Taylor's Grammys. Thank you, thank you, okay.

Speaker 2:

Number four cooking dare ass at three and two. It's been a rough stretch for dare ass and things haven't gotten easier with James Conner now going on IR. The good news is Barkley is expected back this week. The bad news is he's still on the giants, but Josh Allen, ken Walker, cd Lamb and Calvin Ridley it might not matter. This team is still loaded, much like the album 1989, the hits outweigh the subpartunes. Number three Bijon Mustard. Three and two. A huge output in week five stopped this team's slide. Adding Justin Fields and DJ Moore turned out to be the difference to turn their fortunes around. Now can the Bears offense keep it up, if they can? This is a legit contender, with Bijon and ETN holding down a top running back room. I'll give myself the album Speak Now, because this was when Taylor truly took a step forward and began her march towards pop stardom.

Speaker 2:

Number two DK have it your way. Three and two I wanted to give this team the number one spot and I really thought it would work out. They had everything going for them but, much like Taylor and Joe Alwyn, what was supposed to last forever felt only like a dream. In DK's defense, this was the bi-week from hell. However, losing Richardson could be big.

Speaker 2:

There's a question now at quarterback and suddenly in the running back room, besides McCaffrey who steps up. It wasn't the best debut for Jonathan Taylor. Does he regain 2021 form? Can Mike Evans recover quickly from his hamstring? Can Kenan Allen keep up his absurd pace? If the answers to these questions are yes, dk could certainly be holding the trophy come season's end and at number one, the GPOS 3 and 2,. The GPOS earned this spot, although less on their own merit, more on the rest of the league being unable to separate themselves. But watch out. Echler returns this week and the GPOS are looking ever dangerous with Hertz, devonte Adams and a resurgent, adam Thielen. Could this be a one-time fling for the GPOS? I'm sure they're having a fun time. They're front and center now on the lips of the whole league, like Travis Kelsey. Will this relationship with number one last the whole season? Most likely not, or it will, I don't know. That's the end of the power rankings. I hope you all enjoyed it, even if you very much dislike everything about it.

Speaker 1:

Jesus, Dylan, as much as I hate the Taylor Swift NFL news, that was fucking awesome. Yet again, you did it again. You are fantastic at this and I look forward to this segment every time you come up with it. Surprised at some of the rankings, to be honest with you, I had to mute my microphone because I was laughing too hard. I had a lot of these references, so it does sound like silence during the whole thing, but I am actually cackling in the background. But didn't want to make editing this podcast harder for me as it is a little bit late on a Wednesday night. What day is it? It's Tuesday. It's a Tuesday night. All right, let's move on to our next segment, to our match of predictions. Oh no, we have a segment before that. Do we do the panic section? Is it enough to panic about?

Speaker 2:

I would say that if you're a Patriots fan, you're definitely panicking. I know every one of my friends who's a Patriots fan is thinking that the sky is falling at this point. I hear of people who are already jumping ship to Cincinnati and Kansas City, believe it or not.

Speaker 1:

Yikes, yes, that's your panic section. Mack Jones is terrible and Bailey Zappi's your backup. Whoops, bad stuff. All right, moving on to the match of predictions for this week, we both went four and two this week. Dylan is at 16 and 14. I'm at 15 and 15. It's still close. We are going to go and order as of my app, because I am selfish and that's how we do it here.

Speaker 1:

So the first matchup of the week I have here is Deakey, have it your Way versus Bad Gramps. I have to take myself here because, again, I do it every week, but I am back after the bye week from hell, as you described. I have all three of my wide receivers back. I have my top two running backs in-house. I have to just assume that this has to go well for me. Obviously, cord backs question, but I think with the five skill position players that I have in place, it can't go wrong for me. Bad Gramps has a couple of bye weeks going on here. There's obviously still some play over here and he's got all three of his receivers playing the Arizona Cardinals. Depending on how bad they beat the Cardinals, either it's a running game or maybe they get some love over the past game here. So what's your plan on?

Speaker 2:

what's a you? I'm going to have to go your way, Deakey, because it's going to be tough going up against McCaffrey and now Taylor should get more touches against Jacksonville. I mean, it's a tough matchup for McCaffrey. I'm not saying he's going to score four touchdowns, but the dude has scored in 14 straight games. At this point, I feel like you can just run him in for a touchdown every week and then, yeah, it's mostly just the distribution of the Rams, even though it's a great matchup against Arizona. I think you make a good point that you need it to be a shootout, and so we'll see if Arizona is capable of doing that. But yeah, I'm going to go your way, Deakey.

Speaker 1:

Thanks Also shout out to Dylan Singh on the podcast for the first time.

Speaker 2:

That was a great move and I think I should make that into a whole song if you guys like it enough. Tyree.

Speaker 1:

Are we going to do a?

Speaker 2:

No, no, I'm just saying that Tyree's Hill song. I think we should.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, we could do that. We could actually make this a production, we could.

Speaker 2:

We'll talk about it later. That's a total joke. No, no, it's going to happen.

Speaker 1:

No, no, it's going to happen now. You said it. This is your fault. You made your bed. I'm on top of the world versus Marks was right. This is a very interesting matchup here. We have a bit of a hobbled roster for I'm on top of the world here and I believe a rejuvenated roster for Marks is right. We have Joe Buro, who is back playing Seattle. It's a pretty good match for him. Geondra Swift against Jets, brian Robinson against Atlanta, stefan Diggs against the Giants and then Addison Jordan Addison against the Chicago Bears. I think that this is a breakout week again. I think he beat me last week, but I think this continues. I think we're on something here. I think we go from 0-4 to 2-4 really quick, only because, of course, the Addison opportunity here with Minnesota and Justin Jefferson going down Deion of your Hopkins is on this flex. I think that there's a crazy possibility here for this matchup and I'm going with that. Damian Pierce isn't going to do it. I'm going to say Brown's questionable.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what do you say?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm shockingly with you. I think Marks was right. Might be the luckiest team in fantasy football this year, not because of any, like. I mean, he did lose Mike Williams and Aaron Jones, so maybe not the luckiest. But to have Deion, dries, swift, brb1, philly and Addison now getting a major bump up with the Jefferson injury. But again, it all depends. If Kelsey is out and Joe doesn't set his lineup, then you could be looking at an upset, for I'm on top of the world, but I'm going to go. Marks was right somehow.

Speaker 1:

I like it. I think it's right If everything's set by Thursday and we know what's happening for the week. I think it just makes sense that way. All right. So then we have St Stevenson versus Parsons of Interest. It seems like we're both agreeing on St Stevenson here. As much as Parsons of Interest dominated the league last week, I do believe Zach Moss gets less touches going forward. I man, I Think Miami destroys Carolina this week. I'm so sorry, dylan. I Think Tyree kill has less to do this week. Same with AJ Brown against Jets, like I think.

Speaker 1:

I think these matchups are so dominating that the run game is going to do well, but the passing game is going to suffer. Then on St Stevens's side, yeah, devon HN is out, but you have Breeze Hall. You know, put in some work against Philly, he's going to be unleashed. Jemar Chase against Seattle. He's got Ramon Dresch Stevenson, who I think is actually the play this week at running back against Las Vegas. Aj Dylan looked pretty good yesterday against the Las Vegas Raiders, so if he can look good, I'm sure Ruanja Stevenson can have a bounce back week this week. So I am going with St Stevenson. Why do you agree with me?

Speaker 2:

I agree with you. It's going to be close, though, because the matchups for For Brandon are still pretty decent and I think he does have a better Believe it or not, I think he has a better running back and why receiver room at the moment than St Stevenson does. With losing each hand, the difference might be the Miami Dolphins defense there going up against Carolina. I know you love defenses, so that might that might be what puts him over the edge.

Speaker 1:

Wow, it's so good to get validation that defense does matter. They do win championships. Yeah, dylan, you know I've been trying to like not talk about defense as much lately because you know you make fun of me for it, so I kind of don't want to bring it up anymore. It's like why you know they're not going to make that much of a difference. But yeah, you're right, miami could crush Carolina. They could, they could put up absurd points against them and you know parts of interest has a defensive move to make here. They have to go to the waiver wire green base on by. They have to probably drop them because they're not good anyway, but it's fine.

Speaker 2:

You know, they'll figure out how the Cowboys I mean Parsons of interest still has his top yet.

Speaker 1:

They do have the going up against the charges. That's another tough match. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I had the Cowboys another league last week and I benched them against 49ers. So I was like, you know, they're great. When you play someone it's susceptible to turnovers, but when you have a sound team going against you or like an offensive juggernaut, hard to play the Cowboys because the points against might not be what you want to see. So, uh, you know, play a match your own risk, maybe it works out. It's kind of a boomer bust thing. You know, put them in and see if they can get Pick six or something. But yeah, I, I think you have to maybe find another matchup that works better for you. A higher floor, if you will. That's what we play in the defensive game here. All right. So the next match up here is cooking their ass versus Bijan mustard. Dylan, I think you're gonna win. You're on a roll right now. I mean Travisie TN. The namesake Bijan Justin Fields against Minnesota. It's a division matchup. I think he's a good player. It's a division matchup. I think he think he does well with DJ.

Speaker 1:

More I don't know Alvin Comericans he's, I don't know. I think. I think this team is rock solid. I Love what you're doing here as much as I love John's team. He does have sake on Barclay, who's questionable for this week. And if he does go, is it, you know, full send or is it more of a? You know he gets a couple snaps, you know he's on a count. He gets hurt because he's going against Buffalo too Like I feel like that Giants game Isn't gonna go in his favor, even if he is healthy and fully active. He's not going to get the game script that you'd want for sake on Barclay. But again, crazier things have happened. But yeah, I think you win.

Speaker 2:

Yeah well, thank you for that vote of confidence. I think things are starting to come together a little bit. I think on John's side, losing James Conner is gonna hurt, because he's just very good In the red zone scoring those touchdowns. It was really valuable touchdowns. I think he's gonna get Barclay back, but going up against Buffalo it's a tough matchup, it's yeah. I mean, what does Josh Allen do against the Giants? He could have a huge, huge game here. So I'm definitely not writing John off at all here, but I am in a pick myself.

Speaker 1:

Fair enough. The next matchup we have here is team Cronus versus Kyre Renaissance football club. The old homies against each other. We both agree. Here again, the Kyre Renaissance football club is our predicted winner. Marj Jackson going up against the Tennessee defense, it's okay. I think Alexander Madison against Chicago Is a pretty good play. Kyre Williams has a bounce back week against Arizona. God, I did Nico Collins, I mean. Now, the more I look at it I'm like I'm kind of scared about this pick. But yeah, yeah, no, the more I look at it, no, I'm still going with. Kyre Renaissance football club Scares me to death. But I do believe that with losing Justin Jefferson. On the other side, van Jefferson just got traded. They're a little bit of a tough spot here. They're relying on to Sean Watson coming back at the quarterback position. We'll see if it happens or not. And if it does, you know how good is it against the San Francisco defense? That could possibly kill him, because they are terrifying and they just destroyed.

Speaker 1:

Dallas, oh my gosh, oh my god. The entire, the entire defense is is just Extraordinary is but he has this 49ers defense, so all is not he does. All this is gonna be so good. I wish I put this last we have one more matchup and then, and then, the best transition of all time you've ever heard so close.

Speaker 1:

Man really really, really mess that up. All right, the last matchup we have is the G pause the number one ranked G pause of our power rankings versus Kirkeman's dead and Dylan, I do have to go against you here. I am taking the Kirkeman's dead. I don't know if it's gonna be an easy win, but I think it's going to be a win. I know Austin Eckler is coming back for the G pause. I Just don't.

Speaker 1:

I Don't trust the wide receiver depth there. I think his best play is, unfortunately playing two Las Vegas Raiders on the same team for For his receivers. But I do think that Kirkeman's dead, you know, I think Josh Jacobs is going to have a Fantastic day against Patriots, as their defense has been absolutely horrendous. Devontae Smith, you know, as we talked about, is a boomer bust and if he booms, it's over. You've had Jerry Judea on your bad boys list. I don't see any great things happening from him, but I do see him Raheem Moser tearing up the Panthers. So I'm I'm going with her demands dead. It's an easy one for me. Why are you going with your number one power ranking? Yeah, I'm going with the Power ranking, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I think that the G-Pas can pull off not starting multiple Las Vegas guys. I just think Adam Thielen has been so underrated this season that it's kind of hard to take him out of your lineup at this point. And Again, yeah, getting Eckler back is going to be big. I'm not huge, I don't think the running backs are going to be the difference here for the G pause, but I just I think the G pause wide receiver, um, tight end room is basically that much better than Kirk E Man's. I think they'll be able to overcome, overcome them there. And I think you always see from Devontae Adams, when he has a in off game like he had Monday night, uh, you usually see him bounce back in a big way. So I think he he does some major things against New England. I'm going with G-Pas.

Speaker 1:

I get Dylan Take us out here with the tip of the week, with the almost greatest transition of all time.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so last week I Made the decision to start the Washington commanders defense going up against two Bears players.

Speaker 2:

Um, I can't really take you through the thought process too much because there wasn't a huge amount of thought Taken into it, but I will say that it Bit me back a little bit by giving me minus 4.5 points for the defense, and just reminded me of of something I think will be useful for for everyone, and that's don't start your defense against multiple of your offensive players, or or even one, but definitely not multiple. Definitely just don't do that, because you limit the amount of you know points that you can accumulate there. And so, yeah, if you're in that same situation. I don't know, we were just looking at Steve's lineup of Watson going up against San Francisco, which is kind of what reminded us about this, but, uh, something to take into consideration. Just a tip don't have to take it if you don't want it, but, uh, learn from my mistakes at least. If you're playing your quarterback and wide receiver against your defense, it's you might, you might not want to do that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's. It's not ideal. You should have thought behind your defensive play, and it shouldn't really.

Speaker 2:

I won't go interact far you.

Speaker 1:

What do you mean?

Speaker 2:

won't go that far you don't have to think about defense too much.

Speaker 1:

I Wholeheartedly disagree. I think you have to think about defense a lot. I mean, like the, the matchup that you're going against, like how, like you know who you're playing, like you know if you have someone on your team that's like a running back one or two, you know against your defense, like you kind of have to think about that. I mean you do want the the biggest outcome for your lineup, you want the highest ceiling. So I do think that you have to Go out in a way where you know I guess both can can live in the same place, where you know you can have a good defensive performance as well as, like you know, 50 to 70 yards and a touchdown on either end of it. But I, you know, at least in this case of Cleveland Browns versus the San Francisco 49ers, I do believe that the San Francisco 49ers are going to Do very bad things to that offense. So Just think about the matchup, think about what's going on. But defense wins championships.

Speaker 1:

It's very important in fantasy, no matter what Dylan says. So don't listen to him. He's wrong.

Speaker 2:

You know what wins championships. Also, you know a lot of the time, especially the Patriots championships Kickers. So maybe put some more thought into kickers than defense. You know.

Speaker 1:

That's a whole other conversation, dylan. Jesus, you don't have to bring this in so late in this podcast. Um, yeah, no, I just just think. Think about it. I don't know. Good, don't don't play a defense against anyone that's supposed to get you the most amount of points at your team, just as doesn't make sense. And I appreciate that you did this past week, dylan. I don't understand why you did that. You literally had a stack offensively versus your defense and I don't. I will never understand, but it didn't matter because you won by so many points. But you said earlier, if you played One of their team this week, that would have actually lost you the week. So Good to know. Going forward, think about your defensive matchup. I'm the defensive king here. Please Just think about it. Just just put a little bit of thought into it. Are you playing one against your defense? Maybe take a look at it. Switch out either the player or the defense. I don't know. Call me crazy. Well, you're crazy. That was. I Know that, dylan. I know that I understand.

Speaker 2:

This was going so well until we got to the end here.

Speaker 1:

Well, this is what the people listen for, the discrements. Well, that was us, for you know, dear mr Fancy, where we're here every week for seven, coming to you 24-7. Yep, dear mr Fancy, football at gmailcom. You can reach us there, you can. You can text Dylan at two or three 555. No, I was kidding, you can't reach him there. He's got a child. Please don't bother him. He needs to sleep. That's all we have. We have nothing else for you. No good advice Besides don't play offensive players against defense. Breaking news everyone. Hope you, uh, hope you, enjoyed that, that, that insight there. We will see you next week on Wednesday very early in the morning, as we do this very late on Tuesdays. Yeah, thank you to all the international listeners. We appreciate you listening on, possibly Thursday, based on when we put this out. So, rock on Dylan, throw it out.

Speaker 2:

Okay, yeah, whether you Won or lost this week, you just got to shake it off. Shake it off, oh man, damn it.

Speaker 1:

You.
