Speaker 1:

Welcome to Dear Mr Fantasy, where we bring you the heart-hitting news and cry like babies when our team loses with three minutes to go in the fourth quarter of a Monday night game. Speaking of babies crying, daddy Dill, how are you doing today?

Speaker 2:

Hey, what's up? Great little intro there. Feeling good, I'm feeling very happy, very blessed. You know, it's very nice to have just this innocent little angel by my side. It just makes everything more colorful and more peaceful. So I'm feeling good and it never hurts to start off a fancy football season with a win. And I'll just like to say really truly, that was a great competition between you and I and it could have gone either way, probably should have but I was able to squeak it out. So I know that you're going to be right there at the end, at the finish line. I know you're going to be contending for a chip this year. So just a. You know that's just a weak, one little snag right there, but you know you'll have better weeks ahead, I'm sure of that.

Speaker 1:

I hope so. Yeah, you know, tough, tough to lose week one with a, you know, pretty solid week. But I'm happy to give you the most complete week of all time, not only winning your fancy matchup, but just the most important thing, but welcoming baby Napoleon into this world. That is also cool. As well he you can, you can tell him that you beat Uncle Connie the week he was born and it'll it'll. It'll go down to history. We'll remember this forever. We'll tell the story Every family gathering as he becomes a, a degenerate adult. Can't wait, can't wait, all right. Well, that's enough of the nice stuff.

Speaker 1:

Let's get into the matchup winners of this week. We're going to try to be concise, as we went on a little too long last week, so let's just just get right through this real quick. Let's start with the blowouts. Parsons of interest has little to no interest in a. Marx was right by destroying him 121 to 83. Cook and their ass did just that and wiped up bad Gramps 81 to 52. Our next section is close, but no cigar, I'm on top of. The world stands above St Stevenson 96 to 90. And team Cronus kills Kirkman's dead 87 to 84, which brings us to the West Fair TV audio barn burners of the week.

Speaker 1:

It's the, the segment you know and love, sponsored by West Fair TV audio. Come get your TVs, baby Got. Bijan mustard has it his way with DK Havett your way 89 to 87. And then and then the, the owner of West Fair TV audio, the G pause, survives the night, absolutely squeaks one out against the chubby chasers 62.6 to 62.06. Had to give the decimals there as that was, that was a fun one. Actually had your, your dad, the owner of the G pause and West Fair TV audio texting me saying that he had lost and how, what a bummer of a night it was, and had to inform him that he actually did win, he was safe and I had lost and he had not. As we have been texting all night, it's really sweating that one out after watching a pretty, pretty crazy game, which we will discuss a little bit later in this final final I'm missing final in this first section of big boys, bad boys and sad boys.

Speaker 1:

You want to just jump right in.

Speaker 2:

That's it. We're retiring the segment.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's over the last one.

Speaker 2:

Our only segment? Really no. Yeah Well, no this is it's here for the foreseeable future until we can think of something better, we're going to get a sponsor for it.

Speaker 1:

We're still open to sponsors. We will take anyone that will give us money to sponsor anything as our sponsors.

Speaker 2:

I have a baby now. I need, I need more money.

Speaker 1:

Please.

Speaker 2:

Please, sponsors, please give us some money.

Speaker 1:

Right, yeah, we would like that. That'd be really cool. All right, let's go to the big boys. We're going to make a little more concise this year. We're only talking about a couple guys.

Speaker 1:

The top three of the quarterback position this week was, to a tag of my Loa, mac Jones and Jordan Love. Everyone aboard the love train, three touchdowns, looking fantastic, back shoulder throat. Aromio dobs in the corner. Are you kidding me? Those are your top three. Definitely not the top three you would think of when you think of top three quarterbacks of week one. But it was a wacky week one. You know healthy to has two guys that are going to always be open. I think Tyreek Hill was literally open every play. Mac Jones kind of had a little comeback in him. The Patriots passing game looked pretty good and then Jordan Love it was a. It was a solid game against the Chicago defense. You know it's Chicago, so maybe let's hold off on the overreactions here, but he looked competent and that's all we really need at that position there. Dylan, I see you have. You have three young ins or two young ins here and and someone we're going to do when you talk about go ahead.

Speaker 2:

He who shall not be named. Yeah, so my big boys this week Anthony Richardson with 20.92,. Brock Purdy 17.3,. Desean Watson 20.16.

Speaker 2:

And now I read a lot on ESPN and other sites and they were saying that DeSean Watson didn't play well and, you know, didn't look good. But like, compare that to Joe Burrow. Sorry about that, compare what DeSean Watson did to what Joe Burrow did in the same conditions and I think you're going to start seeing that DeSean Watson is going to have a really good season here. And he also made things happen with his legs, rushed for 45 yards and ran for a score as well. In future games he is going to definitely throw better because it's not going to be rainy, terrible conditions against a really good bank of secondary. Like Sean Watson, get ready, like if you drafted him, you're definitely looking at a top eight campaign at least and he might squeak the top five this year. So I really liked what I saw out of Watson week one. And then your guy, anthony Richardson I don't know how you thought about his debut, but definitely looked the sharpest out of the rookies.

Speaker 1:

Definitely. I think Anthony Richardson looked great. I thought he was a little bit ahead of schedule there. He was making great throws, even with pressure coming right at him If his line ever broke down. He was making good decisions, using his legs when he needed to. Should probably slide a little bit more. Got a little bit of a Josh Allen problem there, where he thinks he's tougher than everyone, which he is. He's 6'4", like a freak athlete, of course, like he's tougher than everyone. But yeah, people are a lot heavier than him and are going to hit him really hard. So he came out of the game in the fourth quarter. So that's scary. But if you can learn to control his runs a little bit more, I think he can be one of the better rookie quarterbacks of this season.

Speaker 1:

Going to your D'Shawn Watson point, you bring up a good point. It's not going to be rainy every week, which I believe is why he used his legs a little bit more. He had a rushing touchdown, so without the rushing touchdown his week isn't as great. It's around 14 points and his pocket presence wasn't that great. He still had some similar problems his last year, so let's keep an eye on this. Yeah, cool If he can sneak into the top 12 this year. You get a really cheap quarterback late in the draft that does you well. But with the conditions of last week and being a really weird week one, with the Bengals kind of just waving the white flag, yeah, I don't know if I'm in on D'Shawn Watson. I'm still pretty concerned about his quarterback play going forward. But I like the hot take deal and let's, let's okay.

Speaker 2:

So do you think he cracks the top eight?

Speaker 1:

No, I don't, I think. I think he's outside the top 12. Actually, I think he's. I think he's more between 14 and like 18.

Speaker 2:

All right, put it down on the board. Yeah, I'm saying top eight, connor saying top 1214. Sure, yeah, let's go, that's fine.

Speaker 1:

I'm happy with that bed. We'll, we'll, we'll look to that and we will. Maybe we'll talk money later after this podcast, okay. But yeah, I just I don't know, I don't really believe in him. I think he, he just doesn't look that good. And yeah, he went up against the Bengals team that was having a rough week in which never last week I said the Bengals were going to have a pretty slow start to their season and it did happen, it did come to fruition. So yeah, riding high off that one. But okay, the running backs of this week, your top three Aaron Jones, 24.7 points. Austin Eckler, 22.4. And my guy, number one pick overall, christian McCaffrey, 22.4. Just a fantastic week. Out of those three guys said, you know, packers going up against the Bears defense. Don't know if that means anything, but it meant something.

Speaker 1:

Week one in terms of fantasy. Austin Eckler did Austin Eckler things finds? The red zone broke off. A couple great runs was being used in the passing game. Cmc same thing broke off. Huge touchdown run, thankfully with a beautiful brand new Yook block and yeah, he looked fantastic. As much as they were talking about sitting him, how many times did he run? He? Let me pull up his carries real quick. It's going to take a second now. I think it was like 20. Yeah, he had 22 carries for 152 yards and a touchdown and three receptions on five targets. I like the usage. Eli Mitchell is still a little bit hurt so it's not again saying much. But you know, for all the talk about oh, he's getting, you know, going to be used less this season, he's not going to be the Carolina Christian McCaffrey. That was the Carolina Panthers Christian McCaffrey right there, if I, if I saw anything correctly on a on that beautiful first Sunday. Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it brought me right back to prime McCaffrey, number 22 and that blue. Oh, what a beautiful sight to behold, that 65 yard run.

Speaker 1:

Oh, so nice they're beautiful that that that San Francisco team is terrifying, dude. They. They can do it with any of those guys up front, so really excited for that going forward. But let's talk about your three guys actually three young ins this time, so you're on the young train here. I like it.

Speaker 2:

I know, yeah, well, they showed up baby.

Speaker 2:

Taylor Algier showed up really well. I mean, he had that great season last year and everyone was wondering how it's going to look this year and he seems like he's going to be a really viable fantasy option in that Atlanta run game because he's got a great complimentary style to Bijan Robinson, who's a lot of I was going to say I candy. But it's way more than that. It's just like so much skill and like quickness and just like he Bijan like almost is like makes it an art form out there where Algiers more of just like this downhill um thunderous running back and yeah, when he gets that lane open to he can just burst right through, and so he's going to be a good fantasy asset. I don't know if it's going to be 21.4 fantasy points every week, but he's he's picking up right where he left off last year and that Atlanta run game is going to be.

Speaker 2:

I mean they're barely going to throw this year and they probably won't have to in a lot of these games. And Kyron Williams I loved what I saw out of him in Los Angeles. I think he's already been picked up by Chubby Chasers. I think picked him up this week. So great pickup there looks like, and we'll probably get to it, but it looks like he might be supplanting cam acres as the number one in Los Angeles, so an interesting development there.

Speaker 2:

And then the Breeze Hall. I mean, he is not a hundred percent and yet he just makes the most out of all of his touches, like that that run when they were on their own five yard line or somewhere near that was amazing. And when he's a hundred percent, he's taken that 95 yards to the house. And to see him back and looking as good as he did, that was a great move. For well, I know Brandon drafted him in our league, but any league. It's a really good pickup because I think that investment's just going to get better and better and then when you reach playoff time in the fantasy season, he might be a MVP down the stretch. And so, yeah, those were my three guys right there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're going to talk about like the Tyler L G or situation a little bit later. But you're right about Kyron Williams. I do believe that there was even a report last year that he was kind of looking to take the number one job but he got hurt on like the first play, like it was like the kickoff of the Ram season. He got hurt and was out for the rest of the year or at least heard enough that he wasn't going to take that number one job when cam acres did. So Kyron Williams is definitely slated to take that number one job and, like I said, breeze Hall is so great to see him run. It was.

Speaker 1:

It was tough because obviously he like didn't have that same kind of that, that agility in the end to break off that run. He kind of has slow up and I hope he can stay healthy too, because it's really scary the year after an injury like that to keep being healthy the whole year, especially when you're breaking off runs like that. You know that's kind of where it happens. So, yeah, hopefully that he can stay healthy and do great things because he looked awesome. I was so out on Breeze Hall this year and I regret it so much so good for you, Breeze. Happy for you guys, we'll talk about the other part of that later.

Speaker 1:

The wide receivers of this week. The top three Tyreek Hill, the man who was just always open. He had 33.5 points. Brandon Ayuk, with two touchdowns, 24.9 points and at least one of the biggest surprises of the day, jacoby Myers. He looked incredible until, unfortunately, he had a really nasty hit that took him out of the game and, I'm assuming, out of next week as well, at least because he got his bell rung and. But he looked awesome in that Vegas offense. So, yeah, shout out to those three guys. Brandon Ayuk I don't know if it's like a consistent number one wide receiver thing with Debo there and Kittle and Christian McCaffrey and Eli Mitchell coming off the bench there, but I don't.

Speaker 1:

There's gonna be weeks where he does this. He's gonna be kind of like my Boomer Bust candidate of this year. It's like he's gonna do this every now and then, but I don't know if he's gonna do it consistently. Tyreek is going to do this consistently. He is on a tear. He said 2,000 yards in the beginning of the year and he is on pace to do that, so he could possibly get there. And Jacobi Myers I think being an ex-patriot in that offense is gonna be helpful for him and it seemed like he had a pretty decent rapport with old Jimmy Handsome there. So, yeah, good week for those three guys. Let's go through your three guys, dylan.

Speaker 2:

Sure. So Puka Nakuwa, the name we will not forget this year in fantasy football. That's right. I mean, 10 receptions, 112 yards, I think it was 110. Wow, like he filled in that maybe not the Cooper Cup slot, but he's definitely eating into that volume. And so, wow, waiver wire, darling of the year, I think and it's really early, but I mean everyone has really good things to say about him.

Speaker 2:

And the Rams offense looks fixed. With Matt Stafford back at the helm, the Rams look like they're kind of on a mission this year to get back to that Super Bowl caliber team. And so he was brilliant on Sunday. And then I mean, I was really impressed by this guy, rashid Shahid, for New Orleans. It's gonna remain to be seen if he can be like a big fantasy asset, because there's a lot of Matt's to feed in New Orleans between Michael Thomas and Chris Olave and they're gonna get Alvin Camara back, but he is so fun to watch because he's kind of like that Tyree Kill, like Speedster, who can just get open so quickly and take it to the house. And electric performance by him on Sunday. And so I liked what I saw out of Rashid Shahid and was happy to be able to pick him up. So yeah, and then finally Calvin Ridley, who we both were not high on to begin the season, if I'm remembering that, and we kind of we're on about that, one wouldn't you say yeah, I'm definitely eating crow on the Calvin Ridley take.

Speaker 1:

It looked like him and Trevor Lawrence have been playing for the last like six years together. They were just on the same wavelength the entire time. And, yeah, you know, zay Jones had a decent game. Christian Kirk did not, as I was talking up before, but yeah, calvin Ridley is that guy. Trevor Lawrence looks great in that little tandem with him.

Speaker 1:

Shout out to Frank for the Pukinakua pick up, honestly, cause he did it like oh Jesus, it must have been like a week before the season started. Yeah, he called it a while ago. Yeah, he must be like talking to some of the Rams beat writers or something, cause, like he knew what was up with Pukinakua and it's like it reminds me of like the running back handcuff where, like as long as Cooper Cup is out, pukinakua is the guy to take that role, like the kind of possession, like he's gonna, he's gonna get those 10 to 15 yards for you when you need to first down, or for some reason, he was just kind of used in that same, that same role. And obviously it's week one. Like you know, 2-2-awe had a good game as well. I've seemed like it was gonna be more consistent with Pukinakua, but who knows, I mean the scheme can change. The Rams were surprisingly fantastic. Matt Stafford looked vintage and as long as he can stay healthy and look like that and throw like that, yeah, those Rams receivers are gonna be a really cheap ad or a cheap draft pick that are. It's gonna be extremely valuable going forward. And Rashid Shahid, you know that was awesome, just kind of out of nowhere. You know. Even Michael Thomas like that passing offense as much of a rock fight as that game was, that passing offense didn't look horrible to me. Michael Thomas looked pretty good. Rashid Shahid was nice. The running game wasn't great there, but yeah, I was happy to see some, some interesting names week one on that wide receiver top 10 list. Shout out to my guy, romeo Dubs.

Speaker 1:

All right, let's move on to the tight end position. This is a sad list here. It was not a great list. It was a great week for tight ends. We were missing Travis Kelsey. We were missing Mark Andrews. George Kittle didn't really produce much week one. So like, kind of, your top guys weren't really there, which leads us to at least these were your top two. I didn't even do a top three because I didn't deserve it. Hunter Henry was number one at 11.6 and Hayden Hearst was number two for 10.1. So good for the Hs this week, but, yeah, not a lovely. Not a lovely week for the tight end position. Hopefully we get some of those guys back for this week, at least some of the stars that are a little bit more.

Speaker 2:

I hope Andrews comes back at least. Yeah, I mean Not Kelsey. Kelsey can sit one more week, andrews can get back.

Speaker 1:

How about that? Yeah, that would be good for you. Yeah, and even Isaiah likely, who is usually like a really awesome plug and play tight end once Andrews is out, didn't really do much. There wasn't really much there. What do you have? Four yards. He had 0.4 points. It wasn't a great week for that Raven's offense there. But I wanna ask you about the newcomer on my favorite team here, luke Musgrave. He looked pretty good. He looked pretty good for week one. What do you think about his performance still?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and he would have been the top fantasy scorer if he actually didn't stumble before being wide open and he would have had a touchdown and he kind of fell in.

Speaker 2:

It was a tough catch. But you're looking at being up there with Hunter Henry and Hayden Hearst with that extra six point touchdown. I just really like the way that Jordan Love is orchestrating that offense at the moment. It was really smart for the Packers to sit love for those three years and he looks like he's been at it for a long time, and so he has the weapons of Christian Watson and Romeo Dobbs and now Musgrave. They might be a pretty potent passing attack this season and I liked enough what I saw out of Musgrave and really liked what I saw out of Jordan Love that he's definitely on my radar to be a guy who's gonna I think, gonna be a top 10 tight end this year.

Speaker 1:

Definitely. Yeah, he comes from a football family so he's really comfortable and really locked in with just the game. I think he's gonna be a great tight end. I think he is at least the answer for now and, like you said, that pass game's crazy. We didn't even have Christian Watson this last game and Romeo Dobbs, Jane Reed they're young but they're really competent receivers with, like you said, Jordan Love, who sat behind Rodgers for three years, who is at least comfortable. He's not just a rookie getting thrown to the wolves, he's been in the NFL environment for three years now, which I think goes a bit further than you'd think. I know they get dragged for that a lot for taking that first round pick. I dragged them for taking him in the first round, but it's the same formula they had with Rodgers behind Favre and you know again not overreacting here it just looked good, looked competent, which is what I can really ask for there. So I appreciate the Luke Musgrave ad. I think he's gonna be fun this year.

Speaker 1:

We only have one defense here for our big boys and it's them boys, the Cowboys. They put up 30 on the Giants who in the end, the actual Douds Cowboys put up 40 on and the Giants put up zero. So shout out to all our Giants fans who are listening here there's actually a lot. But yeah, I mean this Cowboys teams they just get turnovers, Like every year. We always think, you know, turnovers are kind of a fluky stat. It's not consistent every year, but the Cowboys it kind of is. This is like their third year taking the ball away a lot. So it was a wild, wild, wild game. Dylan, did you catch this game at all? Were you watching this monstrosity?

Speaker 2:

I missed it in person. I did catch the highlights as I was prepping for this podcast, as I always do, because you guys matter a lot to me, and so I saw a lot of what went down Sunday night and I heard about a lot of what down from my brother and my dad. So, yeah, tough look for the G-Men, but hey, they got. The Cardinals this week should be able to get a win.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I mean again, we're not overreacting to week one. The Cowboys looked really really good. The Giants looked really really bad. Both of those teams are not actually like that. Giants are probably better than that. The Cowboys probably aren't as good as that. Just take a deep breath. Everyone Week one's always weird. Just I mean, and then the Giants are going to look great against the Cardinals, or at least a lot better. People will overreact to that. So we're chilling.

Speaker 1:

But I didn't realize that we actually had a second defense here. There's a page break in my notes. We have the Jets in here with 14 points, kind of rallying after a devastating injury in the beginning there. So yeah, we have the Jets on here with 14 points, three turnovers, three interceptions. Which is it? What's his name? What's his last name? It's Whitehead Whiteside. Yeah, whitehead. He already secured $250,000 with that because that was part of his incentive to contract. So by getting those three interceptions week one, he has already secured a better contract and more money. So good for you. That bill's offense didn't look as good as we remembered it from last season. But yeah, I think that Jets defense is pretty serious. They think they're going to have a pretty decent year. It's a little bit tougher now, with maybe a little bit more turnover, more turnovers from the offense, but still think they're going to hold their own. It's just maybe they're going to be putting a probably a little bit worse of a position the next 17 weeks.

Speaker 2:

That's true. Yeah, they put the team on their back the other night, and so they deserve a little shout out here.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, they. You know that last touchdown, obviously, you know, brought them up to that 14 points. You know getting that punt return always helps, but they look good. Three, three interceptions. You know touchdown on defense always helps. And then we have one kicker here which is really mean. I didn't even see this get put in, I didn't even put this in on the outline. Dylan put Greg the leg, greg's airline 11 points. Yeah yeah, he had a great game. It made me watch the entire game. I would like to have been asleep and in bed by, you know, half time, but no, I had to watch my team lose on Monday, because I always lose on a Monday. So, of course, in the last, what two, three minutes of the fourth quarter, they go ahead with the field goal, which is what puts me to sleep. And did you, did you watch that field goal live? Did you see what happened there?

Speaker 1:

No it was a terrible kick. It was low and it could have been blocked and it looked like it was going to get blocked so I got a little bit excited. It was a bad kick it was. He definitely did not get it right. So I was like kind of pumped. I was like, oh, they're going to block it, that he's going to, you know, shank it. Nope, drilled it right through the upgrades, but like pretty low. So that was horrible. Dylan, what are your thoughts on your boy, greg the leg?

Speaker 2:

Well, you took that one like a champ, me sneaking in that kicker on this outline here. Yep, Thank you, Greg. You did your service. Now off to better, better things. I'm sure you will find a great team somewhere, but it won't be with me. But you, really you. You played your your leg off on Monday night. So I commend you and thank you for getting me a fantasy. We win in my 12 person friends and family league here in the Northeast, so I hope I hope he maybe is tuning in right now and I can think of him in person. So thank you, Thank you, Greg.

Speaker 1:

Thanks, greg. Speaking of, let's move to our bad boys of the week. We're going to start at the quarterback position here. Bad week for quarterbacks, especially the ones that you drafted early, starting with Lamar Jackson at seven points. Not really what you want to see. Josh Allen had 9.5 points, three interceptions. Dak Prescott, in a 40 to nothing game didn't have to do anything. Really. He kind of threw the ball a little bit. No touchdowns, didn't have to use his legs. The run game was fantastic, the defense was better. He had 6.3 points.

Speaker 1:

And then Joe Burrow with, like as I said last week, like a really slow start. Just it's not on there, I think only at 82 yards, 84 yards. It was just a disappointing week from someone you take in the top five rounds there. Never want to see that. But yeah, definitely like especially disappointed in Lamar and that new Ravens offense. You know it just wasn't happening. There was like no designed runs, at least not enough designed runs. It just maybe it's the different offense, but it did not look good. But another one that's on here that I think is actually kind of interesting is probably the first or second quarterback taken of every league, not to say that a bad week, but they didn't have the week that they usually have. What did you think of Jaylen Hertz this week, dylan?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he's definitely a bad boy for me because of where he was drafted. You know you would just said the second or third quarterback off the board and yeah, you're expecting more than 13.5 kudos to the Patriots defense.

Speaker 2:

They look like they're in good shape for this season. But you do get a little worried about that Super Bowl handover, that dreaded like team that makes it to the Super Bowl and then the next season has a down year. It happens, a lot happens, often, so it's just something to keep your eye on. I'm not again going to overreact to any of these really these quarterbacks on here. So, yeah, just something to keep your eye on.

Speaker 2:

And then I thought Geno Smith was also a bad boy for me and he's actually the one guy I'd be worried about because was last year an outlier statistically.

Speaker 2:

I mean it was compared to his other previous career. So you know, in fantasy we're always looking at the stats and he doesn't do a lot with his legs and so he relies on throwing touchdowns and throwing for a lot of yards, which he did last year. So is he maybe regressing more to his career numbers or above average his career numbers, but maybe down from last year? You know, I think that's something that was in the back of a lot of people's mind during draft season. So he didn't go super high in drafts. So it might be tough for the Seahawks to win games if he's not playing at his ceiling, but he's a bit of a bad boy for me because it could be just a sign that you know, this is the Geno Smith that we might be getting this year, still going to be a good quarterback for the Seahawks, still going to throw touchdowns to DK Metcalf. Taylor Lockett will get his, but I don't know if you're going to see the same outcome. You know statistically, yes, we did last year.

Speaker 1:

Right, yeah, I'm really hoping that's not a flash in the pan for my sake, because I'm a DK Metcalf owner, but yeah, we're talking about some of his teenies later on in this bad boy section, but not in this one. The running backs that were the bad boys of this week. Najee Harris 3.3 points Everyone was already worried about him with Jalen Warren behind him, but not a great start. They also went up against San Francisco, so anything Pittsburgh related I am taking with a great assault because they played the San Francisco 49ers. They were down a lot points wise and that defense is pretty serious. Antonio Gibson had a really tough start 0.9 points. Damian Pierce a little bit of a slow start 4.7 points.

Speaker 1:

And then I put I put Jameer Gibbs on here because he had six points taken pretty high in our league and in almost every other league that I've been a part of or have seen, jameer Gibbs is, you know, super high first round draft pick, what's supposed to be kind of this. Deandre Swift replacement passing, you know, passing game, run game but it looks like his job is getting eaten into a little bit and that usually changes with rookies as time goes on. You know he could take a little bit more of a roll going forward. But yeah, maybe not what you want to see.

Speaker 1:

First week of the same thing with, like you know, bijan and Tyler. As you hear is this David Montgomery and Jameer Gibbs split. So yeah, just just something to keep an eye on. You know this could get better. He could take over the role a little bit, but not not a confidence booster week one, but we talked about him before Dylan cam makers, not a bad week, but actually watching the game is a little bit concerning seeing at least the splits in terms of snap count and actual touches.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, not a bad week, week one, like 8.9 points points wise. But I think it's a bad sign for if you're thinking long term, because, yeah, those touches and the fact that Williams looked so good and the fact that I don't know if the franchise has ever been so in on came makers. They've always been kind of rocky, like the coaching staff and acres. They've had their moments of, you know, disagreement. We'll say so. It might be the time where acres is relegated just because his teammates playing so well. So less about acres, you know, falling off a cliff, it's more. He might be in the middle of, or the beginning of, losing his starting running back job. At least, I could see it becoming a 50-50 split.

Speaker 2:

And then the last bad boys that I was going to bring up are the Philly running backs? Anyone besides Kenneth Gainwell? Because there was nothing. I mean, people drafted Rashad Penny and he wasn't even active for week one, and then DeAndre Swift got. What was it? Two touches, two or three touches. So, yeah, that hurt if you were wanting to see something out of them, because now really the only thing that you can do is wait and see. If you know, the running back committee starts to come together in Philadelphia. It's kind of we didn't know how it would look. So maybe this was an outlier week one thing, or maybe Kenneth Gainwell's going to be the guy we don't know. And so the fact that we don't know after week one is kind of a loss, because in fantasy we want to know how these running back rooms are going to break out and to still have that be such an open question with all three of those guys basically going and drives Actually Gainwell was probably the least drafted out of the three. Funny enough, so interesting situation there.

Speaker 1:

I'm glad you brought this up, dylan, because there's like two pieces of news like out of this situation. So Kenneth Gainwell is actually ruled out for Thursday night's game, so automatically there's a wrench in all of this, because Kenny Gainwell is the number one running back Rashad Penny's a healthy scratch, boston Scott's in, and you know. Then there's another piece here that I just lost it here, jonathan.

Speaker 2:

Taylor no shut up. How dare you?

Speaker 1:

No, nick Siriani was talking about Deandre Swift today. He said he could be in that role sometimes where he carries the load for the game, and he'll be in the role sometimes, like he was in this last game which was like barely a part of it. So you know, that's what every fantasy owner wants to hear is that sometimes he can be the lead back and sometimes he can touch the ball like two to four times in the game. So this Philly roller coaster might be something people want to maybe think about getting off in, like there's. It's maybe good to keep all these guys like on your bench, just in case. You know injuries force, you know a, you know a two man team or even just like one steady back there. But even right now I mean, like you know, kenny Gainwell is out. Is it going to be Deandre Swift? Is Rashad Penny going to get active and then be put as the number one back? That's a possibility. We don't know what's happening here whatsoever and they're not going to really give us any insight into it. So, yeah, hold on your hats folks. This is going to get a bit hairy going forward. So can't wait to watch Thursday and see. You know, watch Rashad Penny have like freaking 150 yards, like two touchdowns, like then what's everyone going to do? But we'll see. I'm hoping for. I'm hoping for some clarity in the next couple of weeks because I do have a piece of some of these guys in a couple of different leagues, so we'll see how that goes.

Speaker 1:

But our wide receivers are bad boys of the week. It's really bad wide receiver week. Jamar Chase Drafted third overalls. Dylan takes him first overall in some leagues. Folks. Again with this terrible Bengal start 4-1 points, not a lot there. His teammate T Higgins did even worse with zero points. Nothing going on over there. And then Tyler Lockett, as we talked about before, that Seattle offense, even though they were down, you know, for a lot of that second half only got one point there. And then Christian Kirk, who I was pretty high on last week 0.9 points. But I do want to throw it to you here, dylan, for your was boy at one point who talked a lot of shit last week about, about Jair Alexander in this, in this cream babe, hackers, defense DJ more, only with 2.5 points didn't really show up to the game. You know, couldn't really figure out, jair. What's going on with your boy dude?

Speaker 2:

give us some insight oh well, better days are ahead. Packers do have a really good defense. If I came across it or said that they didn't, I would like to retract my words. They do have a really good defense and they, for sure, own the Bears. That has been already, you know, made made true numerous times, so I would stick with DJ more.

Speaker 2:

He is a wide receiver to at best, and that was always his thing in Carolina too, and again, we're talking fantasy points scoring. So he's not. He's not a guy who is going to be the alpha for your fantasy team, who you're gonna rely on, but those weeks where he does score a touchdown will really help out your team. Justin Fields is gonna play better. I think DJ Moore is gonna settle into this offense by the middle of the season because, remember, he's a new guy on the scene here. He doesn't have a lot of reps with Justin Fields. This was his first in-game reps with Justin Fields, so, be patient, better days are ahead. But yeah, I mean, what can you? I would have loved to still have him. Carolina, that's for sure.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, he'd be probably pretty valuable over there in Carolina. Yeah, he's like a flex play going forward for me. I'm really nervous about Justin Fields decision-making going forward. He hasn't really made a lot of progress in like processing. He made a lot of really bad decisions last game and hopefully that's due to Green Bay is really good defense, but it's kind of been the the tape on him has been. He's never been a good processor. Even even when he is successful he's still not making correct reads. He kind of looks like a being maddened. You know he kind of just like throws the guy that he's staring down the entire time never really works out and sometimes it does and looks great, but like over time it's not a good thing. So I'm curious going forward, how that passing offense looks like his. Last year they did not have a passing offense and this year it doesn't look like it's improved at all. So again, hopefully that's because the Packers defense is great, but I have a bad feeling it's not finishing up.

Speaker 1:

The bad boys is our tight ends period. That's the end of the sentence. It's all of the tight ends. It was a really bad tight end week. It's had has been for a while. Again. We're really hoping for some, some health, with Travis Kelsey and Mark Andrews hoping for a little bit of life in this position, because right now it is pretty dead. So yeah, not, not really much to say there. I like I do. You have anyone that was particularly bad got. Dallas Goddard had zero points. I guess Kyle Pitts had what 4.5.

Speaker 2:

Kyle Pitts is tough, because that I don't know if that situation is ever gonna be conducive to high fantasy output. If you're, kyle Pitts in Atlanta, so yeah, this was, I mean, cabbage. Learned his lesson last year it seems like he's, he's gonna be proven right again, not to say. I mean, pitts is obviously a phenomenal athlete and a great tight end, but you got to be in a situation where the coach actually will throw the ball. But we'll save that for a little bit later on yeah, yeah, that falcons, that falcons offenses.

Speaker 1:

If the ball has to be in the air, it's. It's. It's not really looking good for you, let's. Let's tackle our sad boys. This is kind of the dominating story of the week. Stories brutal happened Monday. Four plays in. Aaron Rodgers has a complete tear of his Achilles.

Speaker 1:

It was really weird to watch. I was watching this game live and it didn't look bad. It kind of just looked like you know he kind of got wrapped up and you know if you look closely you can see what happens. But live it just looks like he maybe just kind of tweaked it a little, spraying a little, strain, tape it up, come back on the field. No, sat down, got off to the sideline, got carted over to the tunnel and walked into the tunnel but, as we saw with, like Coby Bryant when it happened, shooting the free throws, like you can put weight on it and walk, which is really weird. I don't really know how that works, to be honest with you, but um, yeah, it was, it was.

Speaker 1:

It was hard to watch and I just got a few feel for those Jets fans. You know, even as a, as a pack of fan like he, that's just the worst you go through so much turmoil. You haven't been to playoffs in 12 years. You haven't even won a Super Bowl and I don't I can't even do the math right now it's. If it's not good, yeah, you lose your, your like. You're kind of like one true hope in Aaron Rodgers and it's awful. I feel terrible. I hope. I hope that he recovers. You're worried that he's 39 and he has an Achilles injury, just like I just mentioned Coby Bryant. Like, as it happens, at an older age, it's really hard to come back. I hope he does, but I don't know if that's possible. Dill, what did you? What did you think about the, the story that shocked the news waves of this?

Speaker 2:

week. Yeah, yeah, you could not make that up. It's crazy. All the hype, all the excitement, you know I was thinking that Jets team had her has a real shot at the Super Bowl and they could still be a really tough out this season. But man, just a, just a killer blow. Like I can't even, I can't even imagine watching that game as a Jets fan. And like you're excited you won, but then you get the report after it's they kill Easton, just like. Well, none of that mattered, right? That's probably what was going through a lot of people's minds, but a lot, of, a lot of people are thinking that Rogers comes back you know, this isn't the way that he wants to go out.

Speaker 2:

And you're right, like 39, maybe his body is going to say no and like he has to hit it up, but if there is a way, he will, will it to happen. I think he's that competitive and he doesn't have a wife, he doesn't have a family, so it's not even like some of those things that might be. You know, he might be saying, okay, now, that was, I was assigned, now I'm going to go retire and spend some time doing that. But yeah, I have a feeling we're going to see him back in game green next season.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean you can only hope so. It's just it's tough to be that age and not have like a lot of mobility going forward. If he does come back, they better sink all of the money in the world on an offensive line because clearly those first four plays I mean he was getting, he was getting like just basically run. At every single time there was pressure in his face. They're doing these like weird chop, block, you know moves on the line which wasn't really effective. Mackay Bekton wasn't really looking great starting on the right side there, and it was. It was just weird. It looked bad from the start and obviously like it's a little bit over exaggerated that you know something, this crazy happened. But they better, they better sign some really great veteran offensive linemen if he comes back next year, because he's not going to be able to run like he could and he he can't run that well nowadays but it's going to be a lot worse going forward. So they need to really, if he's going to come back, they have to think about that and actually invest in that, because he's not going to be mobile next year, at least at the top of the season. So if you want him to stay healthy. You got to. You got to do something about that.

Speaker 1:

But unfortunately, in the same vein, jk Dobbins, who has been through the injury ringer the last couple of years, with a horrific knee injury two years ago, came back slowly last year was never really the same Also tore his Achilles. Just sad, didn't really help. You know that again, like that Ravens offense I was talking about earlier, it doesn't help to lose JK Dobbins. He's a really special runner. Dylan, you were. You were someone that was all in on him this year. That was like your guy. I think every draft I was in with you you took JK Dobbins.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh. So in on Dobbins and he looked great until he tore his Achilles, but he looked great. He scored that touchdown. He had like 20 something yards in that first quarter I was. I was thinking like, oh man, they like he is the guy. He's going to be the RB one in Baltimore which likes to run the ball, will get into the red zone. He'll score a lot of rushing touchdowns. This is everything I could have hoped for and more. Alas, not meant to be. But yeah, just feel awful for the guy, because how unlucky can you get Like he? He just can't stay healthy and everyone knows he has the talent, everyone talks about it and so the fact that it happens week one, it's like wow, of course. So definitely, yeah, you hate to see it. That's all I can say.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's brutal, I feel for the kid. It was just like you know he's so competitive too. You know he's the guy you know saying last year like I'm ready for week one. It wasn't really ready for week one, but like you know he wants to be there, he wants to be competitive. But going from knee injury two years ago to Achilles injury this year, like such a tough road back, so hope that you know he can kind of recover for the next year, maybe see him mid to late next season.

Speaker 1:

The last two guys here a little little less serious, as you know it's not. It's hard to talk about injuries that way, but these guys are still going to probably come back. Deontay Johnson went down with a hamstring injury which when I watched this live too and I saw it and I was like man, classic Deontay Johnson, like he always looks like he gets like so hurt, like he could be out for the rest of the year and he plays next quarter, but unfortunately that did not happen. He is probably going to be out the next four weeks is what at least the Steelers are still saying. I think Mike Tomlin came out that. But yeah, he's going to be out for probably the next four weeks, unfortunately. And then, as we said before, jocobo Myers got his bell absolutely wrong. He was very, very, very concussed and I really hope that he is at least out for the next week or two, because that was a really serious hit Enough to have the guy who made the hit apologize publicly after the game. Yeah, just always a scary thing. That is, unfortunately, very common in the sport. But, yeah, he should not play for the next two weeks at least, as he was very much out.

Speaker 1:

And then, yeah, just have a lot of questionable injuries here going forward. Austin Eckler didn't practice today with an ankle injury. Aaron Jones pulled up on his like 50-yard touchdown. He started grabbing his hamstring as he went into the end zone. We just have a lot of guys that are questionable going forward. So, as we are starting to get practice reports, just keep an eye every day as to what the update is. We have a great thing on the ESPN app where it tells you the news on the bottom Just once a day, whether it's in the morning, the day after or that evening after your duties at work. Just take a look at your roster kind of plan ahead. Maybe pick up some guys on your bench that you can do a little plug and play, whether it's a handcuff or someone else on the team, just keep an eye out there, because this is a tough landscape here. Dylan, did you have any other injuries that you wanted to add on here or anything that's pressing?

Speaker 2:

No, I was just scrolling through and it looks like James Conner is also on the injury report and so, yeah, it's just stuff to. You know, running backs take a lot of the hits and so you know it doesn't matter a lot of the times how durable you are. Eventually you take that many hits, you're going to get nicked up and so, yeah, we'll see a lot of questionables, especially for running backs this season. So just keep an eye on it and keep an eye on their backups. I guess would be also a good tip there. It's like who is coming up next for them? Because he might be a guy to stash and you know we'll pay dividends, because I saw you did that with Josh Kelly. It's just great, great pickup Conner.

Speaker 1:

Thanks.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, so that's where we are. This is football, and people get hit and hurt.

Speaker 1:

Hit and hurt. That is the name of the game. I'm really glad you brought up Josh with Kelly, dylan, because that actually brings us to our panic-panic section, the well-known section where we usually freak out about something or someone or some team. But this week, panic-panic section is to not panic, do not panic. There's no reason to panic. Week one is weird. It was really weird this year, as we hope. With data, you want more than just one week. You want a couple weeks of getting the landscape here. But there is some things to keep an eye on, which is what we're talking about today. What can we look for next week a little bit more closely? So my first thing here is split backfield. So that's why I picked up Josh Kelly, because even with Austin Eckler being a top three running back, josh, for Kelly, had 91 yards and a touchdown. I think he had two touchdowns. He had a fantastic week. He was also a top 10 running back. Same thing with Bijan Robinson and Tyler Algier. Tyler Algier actually had more carries than.

Speaker 1:

Bijan. Bijan must have used more in the passing game, but it does seem like there's splitting carries there because Arthur Smith is just a demon to fantasy players. There's a lot more splits than we thought. The bell cow back is kind of out of style, which is kind of why we take running backs so early on in fantasies, because usually there's one guy. He takes all the carries, gets the ball 20 plus times, gets a chance at a touchdown or two. But that's kind of not the thing nowadays. And even with running games that are great there was someone about that killing more offense.

Speaker 1:

That I kind of followed, especially after seeing week one of two running backs splitting carries, like Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard last year. That Charter's offense might be a little bit more split and some weeks it means that it's not great. Maybe Miami's defense, at least the run defense, isn't as good as we'd hope. But yeah, that's the first thing to keep an eye on, don't panic over these things. Maybe Tyler Algier is not actually going to take more carries than Bijan Robinson, but it's something to just keep an eye on going forward. We have some stars still questionable out week one. So, like we talked about before the tight end position Travis Kelsey, mark Andrews. Guys, you don't want to see, I'm not going to say he's a star, but it was weird enough that Christian Watson became questionable right before week one and then out for the first game with a hamstring injury. We're not panicking over it, we're just keeping an eye on it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, especially after what we saw with Cooper Cup, where it went from questionable to out or day to day, and then IR and who knows?

Speaker 1:

It seems like, at least this year, people are obviously in it for the long game. Kelsey's going to be out for the first week and possibly the second week because they want him to heal completely, because they're in it for the Super Bowl. They're not trying to rush him back to maybe sneak out a game or two. They know what they have when he's on the field. So people are playing a little bit safer going forward. So again, we're not panicking, we're just keeping an eye on it.

Speaker 1:

The one thing that maybe we should panic over is turf. We have seen multiple times that a lot of these really freak either non-contact or like barely contact injuries are on turf fields. The NFLPA came out today actually with a demand that all fields get changed to grass, as some of these turf fields are turning into grass for the soccer in the Olympics. So a lot of these veteran guys that are pretty well-spoken in the NFLPA they're coming out saying we got to go to grass because these grass is a little bit of give. These cleats get stuck in turf and it ends up in horrific injury, which we saw with Aaron Rogers biggest story of the week. So that's the only one I wouldn't maybe breathe about and not overreact. We should probably get rid of turf as we've seen it. But let's go back to something that we were talking about before Dylan.

Speaker 1:

Actually, arthur Smith has a really hated fantasy approach to his game. He splits carries, he drafts B John Robinson in the top five. He drafts Drake London in the top 10. He drafts Kyle Pitts in the top five and then uses them as such. He just lets whatever comes. They're not used as stars. But the one weak point there, unfortunately at the moment, is Desmond Ritter. The passing game of this Falcons team is a little scary going forward If you have any stake in it. Are we panicking about this? What is your panic?

Speaker 2:

meter. Here we are, because this has been Arthur Smith's I mean, this is what he's been doing his whole time coaching the Atlanta Falcons that we keep wanting him to throw the ball more because, as fantasy players, owners, whatever we like more balanced approaches to some of these games and especially when you have talented skill players on offense, we would like to see the ball thrown a bit. I just, yeah, I don't think Arthur Smith thinks that's the way for his 2023 Falcons to win a game, and they were able to not throw much this week. I mean, they're in the I think, the 28th least team in terms of throwing the ball and so, yeah, if you have Drake London or Kyle Pitts, it's not looking good, because then we don't know what to think of Desmond Ritter, because he hasn't been given many opportunities there.

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, I would panic about the Falcons passing game, because this is what the coach likes to do. This is what his philosophy is to run an offense, and so it is what it is. We work with it and maybe it will change. I don't know, but it's probably not.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, probably not. I would say, as we learned from the Kyle Pitts years, the last two years at least, it's not looking good. Drake London yeah, drake London owners will pour in out for you For now I'm sure there'll be a game or two. That's good, but I wouldn't trust anything in that passing game and even that running game, as great as it is and he's gonna use that running game a lot it's hard to say if this could just be even the entire time. Tyler's year might be a steal of a draft which I'm scared about. I haven't been a couple of leagues, but woof, that's tough for Bijan owners that some people took him at number three, some people took him at number eight, some people took him at number six. We have some high draft picks of Bijan who might not Took him at number five.

Speaker 2:

Took him at number five.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he might not be the lead back here, he could and he's great in the. He was good in the passing game. He had that touchdown. That was a pass. It was to the side of Desmond Ritter, it was not in front of him, he kind of threw it just to the right and Bijan just ran through two guys. It's pretty awesome to watch. But again, we'll see, we'll see over time. We're keeping an eye on it. I'm not panicking over it, I'm zen over it. All right, guys, no panic panic.

Speaker 1:

It's all gonna be okay, let's go to our matchup predictions. Where last week Dylan went two and four, which was good, I went 0 and six. I did not pick one right winner, so that was tough. Let's hope to maybe make that a little bit better this week. Let's go through each one here one by one. I'm just going to order of how my app pulls it up, which, of course, is my matchup first, unfortunately, so sorry about that, but we have DK, have it your way my team versus the Chubby Chasers, which are currently at a 50-50 split. Nick is projected to be me by 0.1 points, which would make sense, as last week I lost by like 1.5 points. It would just happen that way. I have to take myself here.

Speaker 1:

I need to. I need to rally the team around. A tough loss last week. That's not who we are. I have made the drastic switch to play Anthony Richardson as long as he's healthy. If I played Anthony Richardson last week I would have won. And I need to go with the running quarterback who is also going against another not great team. I mean, Houston was a little bit better than I thought last week but I'm going with Anthony Richardson there. Chris McCaffrey, I'm hoping to have another stellar week out of him. I like my Kevin to get Chicago. I think Detroit it gets Atlanta, as long as a run defense shows up, should be a pretty easy play. Marjaxon is going against Cincinnati, who could be maybe out for blood after a embarrassing week, and Nick Chubb going up against a Pittsburgh defense is tough. Garrett Wilson going up against Dallas I don't love as well, so that's why I'm taking myself here. Dylan, what are your thoughts of my matchup here?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was going back and forth on this one and it's amazing, one of you guys are going to be 0-2 after this week, and these are two really, really good rosters, so I'm going to go with the. I'm going to lean your way here, and I like the upgrade at quarterback moving Anthony Richardson Looks like he might be able to get some points with his legs, and then a little bit of the downgrade. With Garrett Wilson losing Aaron Rodgers. I think that's just enough for me to lean your way right now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I appreciate the vote of confidence. As little as that was, nick, I'd realized your team was looking a lot like mine last year. You got the Lamar Jackson, nick Chubb top two. Love it. Dude. Didn't even realize that after you drafted it, but just shout out to that one. The next matchup we have here is a Bijan Mustard against Marx was right, this is a tough one. It is leaning the way of Bijan. I took Marx was right here.

Speaker 1:

I, as much as I called the slow start to Cincinnati Bengals last week. Joe Burrow is leading this team and I do think that he comes back pretty strong. I think they have to make a statement this week. As much as I think the slow start could still possibly happen for the first two to three weeks, I want to say that the ball, or sorry, the Cincinnati Bengals offense takes advantage of this Baltimore defense and I like Stefan Diggs. Against Las Vegas he's fine, like he had sauce gardener on him. The first game Didn't have a great game, but I think against Las Vegas he does a little bit better. Unfortunately, when I made this pick, there's been a couple of injuries since then. Deiondre Hopkins is now questionable and Greg Dulcich is just straight up out. But Travis Kelsey, if he's back this week, and Joe also has Deiondre Swift who now is maybe the lead back in Philadelphia this week, I think this team can pull it out. But sorry, dylan, tell me why your team should win.

Speaker 2:

Well, because we're going to get Mark Andrews back and as much as they looked like a split back field, I think you're going to start seeing Bijon be heavily utilized. I think Jacksonville's going to continue doing their thing, and then having my kicker on Monday night is going to put me over the edge. I think it always does, it always does. I'll take myself.

Speaker 1:

I'm proud of you for benching Skymore this week. That's a lot of growth from you from week one to week two. So proud of you on that one.

Speaker 1:

Our third match of the week is. Parsons of Interest is taking on the G-Paws, who Verily squeaked by last week, and I'm also. The G-Paws are favored here 54% to 46%. And listen, I'm going with the G-Paws man. This roster's kind of fucking stacked. We've got Jalen Hertz who I think is actually going to do really well against this Minnesota defense. I think that secondary is not as great. Hope they may be using a little bit more in the run game if it could be a little bit more of a shootout, because that Philadelphia defense is also not very great. So I think that this could be a high-scoring Thursday night game. I think Amazon Prime gets a good one here. Austin Eckler, if he's healthy. Tennessee's tough, but I think he's just utilized so much in the passing game and I think it's worth something there. And then Devonta Adams going up against the Buffalo defense. They weren't fantastic last week. I think he has a decent game, but yeah.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. That's where I'm leaning here. Parsons of interest Again, I'm worried about Justin Fields. He could maybe run, but he didn't have a lot. He had like two design runs last week, so I'm curious about it. The only thing that could really swing this is AJ Brown against Minnesota and Tyree Kale against New England, as long as New England show up and game plan for him. But that's my only worries With me. Are you against me?

Speaker 2:

You took Parsons of interest.

Speaker 1:

No, I took the G-Pause.

Speaker 2:

OK, I'm against you, though, because I'm taking Parsons of interest, because they're the defending champs and they just blew out last week and I don't know. It's just, I'm going to pick them until they lose. At this point, that's fair enough.

Speaker 1:

That's fair enough. Next we have Cookin' their Ass against I'm On Top of the World Our friend John Cookin' their Ass is favored 54% to Duggies 46%. That's a tough one as well. We got Seco and Barclay against Arizona. You got K9 against Detroit, calvin Ridley against Kansas City. I like those three guys. I don't think anything's wrong with Dugg's team here Tuha, derek, henry, amon Ra, jaylen Waddle, who is now questionable but this is going to be a rock fight. Don't love the Houston defense play from Dugg, but yeah, I'm leaning towards John on this one. So I see you're with me here. Why do you agree with me?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think John gets back on the winning set or continues to be on the winning side of things here. Yeah, I mean Calvin Ridley, like we said before, and I mean Sequan, is going to bounce back. You'd have to think Dugg's team is really good. It's going to be tough to beat Aline John here.

Speaker 1:

Yep, I agree. St Stevenson up against Kierkeman to dead. We have a dead week. It's awesome. Love these two names. They're my favorite names in the league. I'm going with St Stevenson this week. Pat Mahomes against Jacksonville I think if he has Travis Kelsey they're out for blood. Ramon Jarek Stevenson against that Miami defense. The Chargers ran all over Miami last week. I'm still leaning with that Cincinnati Bengals revenge game. Jamar Chase against Baltimore. Brandon Iuk if he can maybe continue a little bit off of what he did last week at my receiver. Two for Cabbage I also think Zay Flowers is that dude. Zay Flowers is awesome. He looked great week one. So yeah, I'm in on Cabbage. I think again, dan has a great team. Kendrick Bourne, who we just picked up, is awesome. Devon DeSmyth against that Minnesota secondary could be great. Tony Pollard against the Jets I think that Jets defensive line is pretty good, but Kirk Cousins could actually have a pretty big game against that Philly Delphia secondary. So it could go either way. I'm still going St Stevenson here. What say you?

Speaker 2:

I will go St Stevenson here. Yeah, jamar Chase should bounce back. Jermir Gibbs should start to get more touches. I don't know that's a question mark right there, but Brandon Iuk, he might be the difference on this team right now. He could be a really solid wide receiver two this season so yeah leaning St Stevenson.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's scary to think about it your wide receiver two actually being your wide receiver one. Yeah, last match we have here is Bad Gramps versus team Cronus. It's leaning team Cronus 55% to 45%. Team Cronus is actually shaping up to be a terrifying squad. He has Steven Montgomery, who is actually an equal back to Jermir Gibbs. Justin Jefferson against that Philly secondary should do work. Debo Samuel is still nothing to sneeze at, george Kittle as well, and then Tyler Algier in the flex. I mean again, it kind of depends on that Green Bay run defense. But at least the skill players here are terrifying. I don't love DeSean Watson against Pittsburgh. This could be an illuminating week as opposed to last week with him, and he's got the best kicker in the game just in Tucker. So shout out to that. Still, frank has Pukinakua. It could be just Cooper Cupp this year, at least for the first couple of weeks when he's out. Justin Herbert going to be Tennessee, tennessee's tough. Kyle Pitts in Swinbey tough. I'm leaning Cronus Law here. What about you?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm going to lean Cronus Law as well. It's tough because I think that San Francisco defense is going to be tough. With the Puga and Tutu they should still get theirs, but it might not be enough. Going against Justin Jefferson and Debo Samuel Tyler, algeria Team Cronus they're going to be tough to beat. Watch out for team Cronus. Yeah, so I'm taking them.

Speaker 1:

Scarra team. He's got Mac Jones on his bench. I would think about it, especially Mac and DeSean Watson. That's just me. That's some of this. I'm just saying that out there. Final thing here tip of the week is what Dylan thought was the first Thursday night game. It's the second one, but it's a great time to remind everyone that when you have a Thursday night game, if you have a flex player that's playing Thursday night, you want to move them into either the wide receiver spot or the running back spot, Because injuries do happen after Thursday. In practice, illnesses happen and if someone gets hurt or gets sick then you're hamstrung to fixing that specific position. But in the flex you can either fill it in with a wide receiver or running back or a tight end or whatever you want. But it's good to remember Thursday players should go in those top spots, even though it looks weird to you, but it's the smart play going forward. So remember that. Enjoy the week of football Anything. Before we sign off, Dylan.

Speaker 2:

No, it was a very exciting week one. A lot to talk about. Keep sending your line-ups, guys. I know you will, because it's a very competitive league, as it always is, but this year I have a feeling it's going to be something special. So, yeah, just enjoy the games, enjoy Red Zone Channel however you like to watch, and let's root for no more artificial turf.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no more turf. All right, enjoy everyone.
